November is when world leaders will be getting together to make a global agreement on how we create plastic, how much we produce, what chemicals are used with it (to give it different properties - many are toxic though), who is responsible for its life journey (ie what happens to it once it’s no longer needed), what all countries agree the health impacts are, what legislation countries and companies have to stick to, how it’s recycled, and lots more!
It’s a really good moment to remember that even firing off just one email to a company or your locally elected representative (or the king/queen/ president/prime minister etc etc) that you want things to change - drastically and fast - can make a difference. Fire off dozens if you can though!
